Effective Date: September 15, 2026
1. Introduction
JetSetAlarm ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the JetSetAlarm mobile application (the "App"). Please read this policy carefully. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our services. The data we handle falls into the following categories:
a) Data You Provide Directly
- Alarm Data: Times, labels, timezone selections, and sound choices for your alarms.
- Reminder Data: Reminder labels, notes, due dates, and completion status.
- World Clock Data: Cities and timezones you add to your world clock list.
- Trip Data: Origin and destination timezones, travel dates, and — if you add a jet-lag plan — your wake and sleep preferences.
- Category Data: Custom alarm categories you create.
- Medication Data: The names, dosages, purpose, schedule and supply counts of the medications you add, and your full history of doses taken, skipped, deferred or missed. This is health information. It is stored on your device, it is never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and it is included in a backup file only if you create one yourself.
b) Data Collected Automatically — only if you turn analytics on
- Usage Analytics: If you turn on Settings ▸ Privacy ▸ Share usage data, we use Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) to collect counts of screen views and feature usage. This data is pseudonymous: it is tied to a random per-install identifier, not to your name or your Apple Account. It is not anonymous. No alarm label, reminder note, medication name, dosage, address or coordinate is ever sent. When sharing is on, the app also sends counts of medication events — a dose taken on time, missed or postponed — never the medication's name or dosage. Analytics is off until you turn it on, and turning it off stops collection immediately.
- Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and app version, sent with the same analytics events and only when analytics is on.
- Approximate Location: Firebase Analytics derives a city-level location from the network address of each analytics event. This happens only while analytics is on.
c) Data Collected With Your Permission
- Calendar Data: When you enable Calendar Sync, we read your device calendar events to suggest alarms. Calendar data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.
- Location — Weather and Timezone: When you enable the weather feature, the app asks iOS for your approximate location (to the nearest kilometre) and passes it to Apple WeatherKit to fetch local conditions. It is never stored and never sent to us.
- Location — Home Arrival (Background): If you choose "Remind me when I get home" for a medication dose, the app asks for Always location access and sets a single 150-metre geofence around the home address you pick, so iOS can wake the app when you arrive. No trail, route or history of your movements is recorded — only whether a deferred dose is still waiting.
- Home Location: The coordinates you choose as home are rounded to four decimal places (about eleven metres) and kept in the iOS Keychain on this device. They are never transmitted, and they are deliberately excluded from the backup file.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Core Functionality: To provide alarm, reminder, world clock, nap timer, trip, medication and jet-lag features.
- Timezone Management: To detect and display timezone information and to keep alarms and doses at the wall-clock time you meant as you travel.
- Weather Display: To show current weather conditions at wake time (when enabled).
- Calendar Integration: To scan your calendar and suggest alarms for upcoming events (when enabled).
- Home Arrival: To ring a dose you deferred until you got home (when you choose it).
- Analytics: To understand which features are used and improve the app (only when you turn analytics on). Analytics data is pseudonymous, not anonymous.
- Purchase Management: To verify and restore your in-app purchase status.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: All your personal data — alarms, reminders, world clocks, trips, categories, medications and dose history — is stored locally on your device with Apple's SwiftData framework. The files are protected by iOS Data Protection, which encrypts them with a key tied to your device passcode. SwiftData itself performs no encryption; iOS does.
- Keychain: Your purchase entitlement and your home location are stored in the iOS Keychain, on this device only. They are marked so that they never sync to iCloud Keychain and never travel in an encrypted device backup.
- Backup Files: If you use the backup feature, your data is exported as a JSON file. The file is not encrypted. It lists your alarms, reminders, medications and your full dose history in plain text, and anyone who opens it can read it. You choose where it goes and you are responsible for securing it. Your home location is not included.
- No External Servers: We do not operate our own servers. We never transmit your alarm data, reminder data, medication data or location to any server we control.
5. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with the following third-party services:
- Firebase Analytics (Google LLC): Collects pseudonymous usage and device data, only while you have analytics turned on. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). Data may be processed in the United States.
- Apple WeatherKit: Fetches weather data based on your approximate location. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Apple MapKit: When you search for your home address, the text you type is sent to Apple to return address suggestions, and the address you pick is resolved to coordinates. Apple does not associate these searches with your Apple Account. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Apple EventKit: Reads device calendar data locally. No data is transmitted to Apple or any third party.
- Apple StoreKit: Processes in-app purchases securely through the App Store. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes. There is no advertising identifier in this app, no tracking-permission prompt, and no tracking of any kind.
6. In-App Purchases
The App offers a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase ("JetSetAlarm Pro"). All purchase transactions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID. We only receive a purchase verification token from Apple to confirm your purchase status.
7. Data Retention
- Local Data: Your data — including your medication list and your full dose history — remains on your device until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App. Dose history is never purged automatically.
- Analytics Data: If analytics is on, Firebase retains pseudonymous event-level data according to Google's retention settings (up to 14 months).
- Backup Files: Exported backup files persist wherever you saved them until you delete them.
- Purchase Records: Apple maintains records of your in-app purchase as part of your App Store purchase history. The App's own entitlement record is kept in the Keychain and survives uninstalling the App.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: All your data is visible and accessible within the App.
- Deletion: You can delete individual alarms, reminders, world clocks, categories, trips, medications and dose records within the App. Uninstalling the App removes all local data on the device.
- Feature Control: You can enable or disable Calendar Sync, Weather, Location access, Home arrival and Notifications at any time through the App settings or iOS Settings.
- Analytics Opt-Out: Settings ▸ Privacy ▸ Share usage data turns analytics on and off. It is off until you turn it on, and turning it off stops collection immediately — there is nothing to opt out of in iOS Settings, because this App reads no advertising identifier.
- Data Export: Settings ▸ Data ▸ Backup & Restore exports all your data as a machine-readable JSON file.
- Notification Control: You can manage notification and alarm permissions at any time through iOS Settings.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), you may also have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, rectify, erase, or port your data. Your medication and dose data is special-category health data under Article 9; it never leaves your device except in a backup file you create yourself. For users in California, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information below.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete that information.
10. International Data Transfers
If you turn analytics on, the pseudonymous analytics data processed by Firebase may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where Google operates. These transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards as required by applicable data protection laws. No other data — and in particular no medication, dose, alarm or location data — leaves your device.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
12. Contact Us
If you have questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us through the App Store support link on our App Store listing page, or email us at support@jetsetalarm.com.
